MANDATE :
The Human Resources Department’s role is to provide counselling, support and expertise for municipal employees, in all sectors of activity related to human resources, such as:
- Employer-employee relations (negotiations, application and interpretation of collective agreements, grievances, concepts of law, labour laws, etc.)
- Staffing (hiring, job posting, movement of personnel, welcoming and integrating new employees)Formation continue et planification des besoins de formation
- Continuous training; identifying and planning training needs
- Health and safety in the workplace (work injury management, prevention)
- Employee benefits (group insurance, pension plans, etc.)
- Organizational development (HR policies, procedures and frameworks)
- Etc.
The Human Resources Department has an “open-door” philosophy and urges employees to consult their services, whether the problem at hand is of a professional or personal nature.
