The City of Deux-Montagnes has been closely monitoring the water level for several days. According to flood ratings, the flood waters now reach 24.78 meters (data observed at 10 am this morning at Lac des Deux-Montagnes). The weather forecast predicts that the flood waters will reach its highest level today, and this until tomorrow morning. Thereafter, the level will decrease. The situation could still by concerning.
All of our Public Works and Fire Department’s teams are presently deployed, as well as the presence of Sécurité civile du Québec.
More than a hundred residents from 9th Avenue to the 15th had to be evacuated in addition to those on Lakebreeze Street and Boulevard du Lac.
A shelter center is open at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall at 141, Chemin du Grand-Moulin, and psychological support is also available for disaster victims at this center.
In case of immediate assistance, call 911 and firefighters can help you evacuate your home.
