Annual inspection of fire hydrants

The City of Deux-Montagnes will carry out the annual inspection of fire hydrants during the month of July. The work will start on July 3rd and will take place from Monday to Thursday, between 7 am. and 5 pm.

It is possible that this work cause cloudy water and a reddish color. It is recommended to let the water run until it becomes clear before using it. Take note that the water will be drinkable during the work. For more information, contact the Public Works Department at 450 473-4688.  Thank you for your understanding.

Works on the Grand Moulin’s dam

The Ministry of Sustainable Development, Environment and the Fight against Climate Change will work on Grand Moulin dam  during the week of July 2, 2018.  These works may cause partially closure. Please note that the bridge will be open during the works but the traffic will be restrained.

Water disturbance

WATER

Due to the water supply for sewer rehabilitation works, disturbances may occur in the network creating particles and brown or reddish  water.

Despite its appearance, the water is perfectly consummable.

Just pour the water through the faucets of your sinks and tubs until it becomes clear again. The situation should return to normal soon.

Traffic detour from June 12th to 29th- Chemin d’Oka

Between the 24th and 26th and the 12th and 18th Avenues, the chemin d’Oka will be partially closed to traffic from June 12 to 29 due to construction works. Detour roads will be planned. Local traffic will be permitted in these street areas.

Works site started in 2017

WORKS ON CHEMIN D’OKA : STARTING MAY 23RD, 2018

Note that minor inconveniences are expected on the chemin d’Oka between the East entrance of the City and 9th Avenue to complete the work undertaken in 2017.

These works are carried out from Wednesday, May 23 until Friday, May 25, 2018. Traffic will be deflected accordingly. If you have any questions, please contact the Public Works Department at 450 473-4688.

REHABILITATION OF SEWER PIPES ON OKA ROAD

Sewer pipe rehabilitation works will be carried out during the week of December 4th  between the 9th  and 13th  Avenues. A complete closure of Oka Road with detour path on Tuesday, December 5 and Wednesday, December 6 and some night work will be required and will cause partial blockages and complete closures of the streets between the 11th and 12th Avenues

REOPENING OF OKA ROAD – NOVEMBER 23, 2017

Oka Road, between 9th Avenue and the east entrance of the city of Deux-Montagnes, will be reopened to traffic in both directions as of Friday, November 24, 2017.

REPAIR WORK ON CHEMIN D’OKA- Monday, August 7th 2017

Notice to residents, The City of Deux-Montagnes received the authorization from the Government of Québec on July 12th to rehabilitate the chemin d’Oka between 9th Avenue and the east entrance of the city. The repair work is set to begin Monday, August 7th, for approximately 12 weeks.

The work will consist mainly of replacing and upgrading the drinking water pipes and sewer pipes, as well as rebuilding the roadway. The project also includes the partial rebuilding of sidewalks and curbs, and the complete repaving of the road surface. Upgrades are planned on the traffic lights at the intersection of 8th  Avenue and 9th  Avenue as well as improvements for making the crosswalks safer for pedestrians.

The project will be realized through a provincial and federal grant program that will cover the bulk of the costs of the work.

Please note that partial hindrances are to be expected and that a risk of congestion is possible. Traffic detours will be possible via 9th Avenue and Guy Street.

 The City of Deux-Montagnes will do its utmost to minimize the impact of the work in the area.

REMINDER OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BOULEVARD DEUX-MONTAGNES

The Réseau de Transport Métropolitain (RTM) wishes to advise the citizens of Deux-Montagnes that the Deux-Montagnes Boulevard between 20th and Antonin-Campeau Street will be closed to traffic during the Thanksgiving holiday. The RTM will carry out work on the railway crossing from October 7 to 9, 2017 inclusively.

Circulation signs will be provided to effectively redirect traffic detours.

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF OKA ROAD

the Metropolitan Transportation System (RTM) will simultaneously carry out maintenance work on the railway line perpendicular to Oka Road. The Oka Road will be closed to traffic between the 11th and 12th Avenues from Saturday, October 7th to Sunday, October 8th.

Circulation signs will be provided to effectively redirect traffic detours.

REMINDER – PARTIAL CLOSURE OF THE BOULEVARD DES PROMENADES

During the week of September 25, between 10 pm and 5 am, the Ministry of Transport, Sustainable Mobility and Transportation Electrification wants to inform road users of the partial closure of Boulevard des Promenades at the height of the staging decks of Autoroute 640 in Deux-Montagnes. This intervention is required as part of annual maintenance work on the road network structures.

In case of operational constraints or unfavorable weather conditions, work could be postponed.

BIDIRECTIONNAL CIRCULATION ON THE 3RD AND 4TH AVENUES DURING CONSTRUCTION

WARNING TO BOATERS, PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS- Monday, August 7th 

Maintenance work will be carried out on the bridge of the Grand-Moulin dam at Deux-Montagnes beginning today, for a period of 12 weeks. The work is being undertaken by the Ministry of the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change in order to clean up accumulated waste materials during the 2017 spring floods .To read the Ministry’s press release click here

SEWER REPAIR WORK- Monday, July 24th 

The City of Deux-Montagnes, in collaboration with the firm AGI environnement, will carry out inspections by camera and clogging sewer branchements in several areas of the city as of July 24. The work will be carried out over a period of 3 months.

This work requires access to the sanitary sewer that connects your home to the municipal sewer line. It is through the sewage outlet usually located in the basement, near the water main valve of the house, that the work is carried out. Generally, this intervention requires less than an hour.

An explanatory letter will be sent to the residences concerned by this work.
