UPDATE: FLOOD WATERS LEVEL AT DEUX-MONTAGNES

Deux-Montagnes, April 26, 2019 – The level of Lake of Deux Montagnes is, at 1 pm, to 24.53 m. It should reach the level of 24.56 m by the end of the day, according to the Public Security. Our teams are still working to consolidate the temporary dike, and even enhance and reinforce it at strategic locations. Currently, water does not enter the streets of Deux-Montagnes.

Update: Spring flood in Deux-Montagnes at 11 am

Deux-Montagnes, April 24, 2019 – At 11 am, the Lac du Deux Montagnes water level is 24.39 m, the “major flood” level, according to the site of the Sécurité publique du Québec. Despite this very high level, the concrete dyke erected by the City of Deux-Montagnes allows citizens not to be flooded until now. Municipal employees and subcontractors monitor the watertightness of the dike 24 hours a day in order to maintain this protection during the critical period.

Update at 9 am : Spring flood in Deux-Montagnes

Deux-Montagnes, April 24, 2019 –At 9 am today, the Lac des Deux Montagnes level is 24.38 m high, still on the “major flood” threshold, according to the site of Public Safety Quebec. Despite this level of water among the highest in Quebec, no street is flooded in Deux-Montagnes.

The temporary dyke, designed to provide protection up to a 25 m level, holds up well so far. Thanks to the many employees, firefighters and subcontractors in the field, who watch their tightness day and night.

Deux-Montagnes, April 22, 2019 – At 2 pm, the Lac des Deux Montagnes level is 24.33 m, which is theoretically the “major flood” threshold, according to the web site  Vigilance : surveillance de la crue des eaux  of the Ministry of Public Safety. Despite this very high level, the temporary dike erected by the City of Deux-Montagnes allows citizens not to be flooded. Municipal employees and subcontractors monitor the watertightness of the dike 24 hours a day in order to maintain this protection during the critical period.

Flood monitoring : the temporary dike holds up

Deux-Montagnes, April 22, 2019 – Today, at 2 pm, the Lake of Deux-Montagnes level is currently 24.33 meters (according to the web site  Vigilance : surveillance de la crue des eaux  of the Ministry of Public Safety). At this level in 2017, many streets were already completely flooded. Currently in Deux-Montagnes, no citizen had to be evacuated.
