Flood Renovations

A permit must be issued by the Town Planning Department of the City of Deux-Montagnes to renovate your home. The Renovation Permit for disaster victims is granted free of charge by Ville de Deux-Montagnes.

Exceptionally, the planning department will be open from Monday to Thursday from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm and on Friday from 8.30 am to 5 pm until 2nd of June.

Flooding: Minimum threshold reached

The water level of Lac des Deux-Montagnes reached the minimum flood threshold of 23.36 meters (data observed at 7:00 am by the Center d’expertise hydrique du Québec). Containers will continue to be offered by the City of Deux-Montagnes except for citizens who will complete demolitions of their home.

Great clean up: Thank you !

The City of Deux-Montagnes would like to thank all the volunteers mobilized on Monday, May 22 to collect the rubbish and sand bags of the areas affected by the floods. In spite of the rain, Mayor Denis Martin highlights the voluntary involvement of the many citizens of the City of Deux-Montagnes and the other towns that have kept a smile throughout the great clean up. The City will continue to collect rubbish and sand bags during the week.

Volunteers who wish to offer their services to disaster victims can do so via the Disaster Relief Center at 141 Chemin Grand-Moulin in Deux-Montagnes.

Big cleaning after flooding

Over the past week, the City of Deux-Montagnes has collected more than 500 tonnes of garbage in addition to sandbags. These pick-up operations will continue over the next week.

Containers will continue to be offered by the City of Deux-Montagnes except for citizens who will complete demolitions of their home. Garbage and sand bags can be placed along the street. The City’s mechanized equipment will continue to collect and dispose of these.
