Deux-Montagnes, February 24, 2023 – The new mascot of the City of Deux-Montagnes made a first public appearance on February 4 at L’HIVERNALE. Following the contest to find him a name, the new Deux-Montagnes ambassador is now named Renardo!

The city council even officially named the Fox mascot “Renardo” by resolution during the city council meeting held on February 23, 2023.

The results of the contest left no doubt about the name to be given to the new mascot : Renardo was suggested by 39% of participants.

Contest winner

The winner of the contest was drawn at random from all the participants who suggested this name. The winner is Guillaume Chantal, who won a $50 gift card at IGA extra Les Marchés Lamoureux, two annual passes for Parc national d’Oka, offered by SEPAQ, as well as a free access for the whole family to the special spring break activity on Wednesday, March 1, organized by the City’s Recreation Department.

Young and old alike will get to meet our furry ambassador during the many events organized by the City.
