Deux-Montagnes, November 3, 2020 – The City of Deux-Montagnes is proud to have been awarded by Tricentris the “Performance improvement” award for recycling in 2019, in the 5,000 to 25,000 residents category. This distinction underlines the efforts of the Deux-Montagnais in terms of good recycling habits.
In 2019, the City of Deux-Montagnes recorded an impressive increase in the quantities of recyclable materials collected, going from 79 kg to 94 kg per citizen. This 19% increase makes Deux-Montagnes the Tricentris member with the largest increase in its category.
The mayor of Deux-Montagnes, Denis Martin, is very happy with this recognition: “I am proud of our citizens who commit themselves daily to sorting their residual materials. Improving the performance of Deux-Montagnes in terms of recycling is the result of sustained collective efforts and reflects the environmental awareness of our community. ”
Every year since 2005, Tricentris has awarded the “Performance improvement” award to three of its members who have distinguished themselves by the increase in recyclable materials per citizen sent to the sorting center. The prizes are divided into three categories: 5,000 residents and less, 5,000 to 25,000 residents and 25,000 residents and more.
