Red and Blue Hockey Game

Teams from the Deux-Montagnes regional police Service and Lake of Two Mountain High School played to a 12 – 9 draw in favor of the police department, at the Olympia arena on the morning of March 22nd 2013, in the second annual Red and Blue Hockey Game.

The pre-game show featured Mr. Joel Robins who performed the classic ‘Good Old Hockey Game’ and Meagan Simon who performed the National Anthem in front of presidents of honor,  Mrs. Danièle Sauvageau, former head coach of Canada’s Olympic gold-medal winning women’s hockey team. And Marc Lauzon, mayor of Deux-Montagnes, Cliff Buckland, assistant director-general of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board, Andre Brouillette, Inspector for the Deux-Montagnes Regional Police, and the two main organizers of the event, Officer Patricia Galipeau and the school director Eric Ruggi, were the special guests for the game and performed the ceremonial face-off.

In addition to an exciting hockey match, there was live music, a DJ, all-star skills competition between the periods, raffles and many more. Students from the Saint-Jude and Mountainview elementary schools were invited to watch the game. Students from the High School prepared snacks and did a lot of volunteer work.

A special thanks goes out to our sponsors, the IGA Sénécal et filles as well as the Maxi grocery store. We would like to thank Quebec Secours for assuring all the participants safety during this activity.
