Deux-Montagnes, May 12, 2022 – The traditional Horticultural Day will be held on May 28 at the municipal garage. Between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., residents of Deux-Montagnes are invited to come and get free annual flowers and herbs to undertake their gardening project.

Upon presentation of proof of residence, Deux-Montagnais can choose two plants of various herbs and one plant of annual flowers free of charge. Some 500 tree shoots will also be distributed, offered by theMinistère des Forêts, de la Faune et des Parcs  as part of Tree and Forest Month.

Beyond the distribution of plants, the Horticultural Day also offers the opportunity to obtain horticultural advice from the city team and to meet partners who have urban agriculture and the environment at heart, such as the artisansof Les Incroyables Comestibles.

On site, a sale of snacks and hot dogs will be made to the benefit of the ‘’Maison des Jeunes’’. The ‘’ 5e Group Scout of Deux-Montagnes’’ is also still involved on a voluntary basis for the event.

The activity of the Horticultural Day benefited greatly from the participation of theCaisse Desjardins Saint-Eustache-Deux-Montagnes, which for the 13th consecutive year has agreed to act as its main partner. “The Caisse Desjardins de Saint-Eustache-Deux-Montagnes is proud to be associated with this day as main partner. As a cooperative, it is very important for the Caisse to contribute to the economic and social well-being of individuals and its community, “ said Roland Tourangeau, representative of the Caisse Desjardins Saint-Eustache-Deux-Montagnes.’’

This initiative is part of the City’s beautification program and is organized to encourage residents to take care of their flower beds and gardens on their properties.
