Deux-Montagnes, May 26, 2021 – After being forced to cancel the 2020 edition due to the pandemic, the City of Deux-Montagnes is pleased to announce the return of the Fleurir Deux-Montagnes Contest in a “online registration” formula. Citizens of Deux-Montagnes who are proud of their flowerbed in front of their house (or on their front balcony) are invited to submit their horticulture project online until June 15.
For the past 16 years, the Fleurir Deux-Montagnes Contest has aimed to encourage the participation of local citizens and merchants in the embellishment of their property. « I would like to thank in advance all the citizens who embellish their landscaping, their balconies and their flowerbeds. They collectively contribute to make the City beautiful. This year, we look forward to seeing Deux-Montagnes at its best for its 100th anniversary with the help of the community’s flowering achievements and gardening efforts », said Mayor Denis Martin.
How can I participate?
Residents and merchants of Deux-Montagnes interested in participating in the Fleurir Deux-Montagnes 2021 Contest simply need to fill out a short online registration form available in the “Activities and Events” section of the City’s website, starting now and ending June 15. No descriptions or photos are required! The contest judges will visit front yard to evaluate submitted projects, while respecting sanitary guidelines.

- Multi-unit apartment building
- Flowered balcony
- Commercial
- Residential flowerbed
Judging Garden Projects
Beginning at the end of July, the City’s dedicated team of horticulturists will visit each project submitted to judge the quality of the landscaping according to predefined criteria: the quality of the landscaping in general, the integration of structures and the variety of plants.
The winners will be announced in September and more information on the award ceremony will be communicated later depending on the pandemic situation.
The prizes to win
The winners of the most outstanding landscapes of 2021 will win gift certificates from local garden shop centers valued at $50 (1st place), $40 (2nd place) and $30 (3rd place). Photos of the winner’s projects will also be posted on the City of Deux-Montagnes’ Facebook and website page.
