Expansion of the Central Park chalet

A new expansion, even more activities

On Saturday, June 3rd, City Council celebrated the grand opening of the Central Park Chalet.

In addition to being a place of gathering for more than 45 years for the Canada Day celebrations of the MRC of Deux-Montagnes, the Central Park has been a place frequented by citizens for several decades for sporting activities . There are three soccer fields, a ball field, a skating rink, an ice rink and an outdoor swimming pool. Some City-accredited bodies already find a place on the street such as the Youth House and the Lions Club. Other organizations such as Softball, Minor Baseball and Rock N Holt also use the facilities at Central Park.
The City has therefore proceeded to extend the park’s chalet to accommodate new installations, notably by adding a multipurpose room of 1200 sq. Ft. Or 30 ft. X 40 ft. Dedicated to the organizations and also to allow the soccer club Shamrocks to have locals at the park cottage. In order to improve Central Park facilities, the WI-FI in the cottage and in the park will now be accessible in addition of street furniture in the park.

Mr. Martin, Mayor of Deux-Montagnes, said: “I am proud to note the growing enthusiasm for activities at Central Park. Improvements are being made to encourage healthy lifestyles within the two-Montagnais community. My colleagues on the Council and I are proud to be able to provide a more functional facility for our city’s organizations. ”
