COVID-19 – Sports and leisure activities for children under 18 and free skating at the arena can resume

Deux-Montagnes, January 27, 2022 – As announced last Tuesday, the government is authorizing the resumption of sports and leisure activities and indoor classes for children under 18. The City is therefore pleased to announce the resumption of its winter programming for children starting on Saturday, February 5. Free skating will also be offered at the arena starting next Monday.

Registered participants will receive an email by the City Leisure Department to confirm the start date of the courses.

Sports and leisure activities for adults

As for the adult activities and parent/child activities, the City is awaiting the next government announcements that would allow the resumption of indoor group classes for all. At present, the session is still postponed.

Registration: Although the registration period has officially ended, citizens are invited to contact the Leisure Department (450 473-2796, option 4) to see if there are places left in a particular activity.

Partial resumption of free activities at the arena on January 31

As of next Monday, January 31, residents of Deux-Montagnes and Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac will be able to enjoy free skating again, in accordance with the following measures:

  • 25 participants maximum per hour block (no reservations)
  • Citizens of Deux-Montagnes must present their Leisure Card and citizens of Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac their Citizen Card
  • Vaccination passport is required for people aged 13 years and over
  • Wearing a mask is mandatory at all times, even on the ice
  • Physical distancing between family bubbles during the activity
  • The time slots are 50 minutes long to allow ice maintenance before  the arrival of 25 new participants
  • Participants can arrive 15 minutes before the block and must leave no later than 15 minutes after.
