Deux-Montagnes, August 12, 2019 – The City of Deux-Montagnes is recognized as the leading community in Quebec in terms of quality of life according to a recent ranking published in Maclean’s magazine. Deux-Montagnes also ranked No. 36 out of more than 4000 communities across Canada.
The ranking takes a number of criteria into account, including economic health, demographic data, taxation, accessibility to healthcare, and public transit. This last criterion really makes Deux-Montagnes stand out, followed by its low crime rate, and the affordability of its housing. (The average home is evaluated at just $286,000.)
Deux-Montagnes Mayor Denis Martin couldn’t be happier with the city’s ranking. “We’re extremely proud of this distinction. It’s a reflection of the daily efforts our team and municipal managers make to provide residents with a dynamic, safe living environment that includes a wealth of services,” he said. “Not to mention that Deux-Montagnes residents also enjoy our many parks, cultural and sports activities, as well as the convenience of having two train stations within city limits.”
