2017 Budget

The municipal administration presented the 2017 Budget, last December 12, 2016. The Budget of 2017 stands out by a reduction of the debt and a freeze on spending and a continued focus on a healthy management of public funds.

In summary:

For the fourth year in a row, the average tax increase for Deux-Montagnes residents will be under to the rate of inflation. The impact on a normal tax bill in 2017 is 0.59 % increase for homes of average value – below the 2017 projected rate of inflation.

The City of Deux-Montagnes plans to invest $8M on infrastructure in 2017. The City expects to receive about 70 % of this amount in subsidies ($5.5M). The City of Deux-Montagnes will continue its approach which began in the fall of 2013, with an impressive turnaround of its finances and ensure the sustainability and quality of its provision of public services, while respecting taxpayers’ ability to pay.
