Deux-Montagnes, July 7, 2022 – The City of Deux-Montagnes wishes to inform you that drilling along the route of the future noise barrier will take place starting July 11 , from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., for a period of approximately three weeks. The purpose of this intervention is to conduct a geotechnical study prior to the construction of the wall, scheduled for this fall.
In order to complete this study, please note that the existing fences within the City’s right-of-way and the noise barrier route between Ronsard and Paul-Émile-Barbe streets will need to be disassembled. They will be rehabilitated on private property once construction of the noise barrier is complete in 2023. During this period, the contractor will install temporary barriers behind residential yards to ensure the safety of all.
The new noise barrier, a project in collaboration with the Ministère des Transports , will eventually reduce the noise level caused by road traffic and improve the quality of life of residents. More information about the noise barrier and the construction schedule will be released shortly.
